Children's Wear
Memphis Style Collection
A playful children's dress collection inspired by the 1980s Memphis Design movement. Features bold geometric prints, vibrant color blocking, and mix-and-match pattern combinations. Designed and constructed for real-world wear.
The Challenge
Design a children's dress collection that's playful and visually bold while being practical for everyday wear.
Inspiration
The 1980s Memphis Design movement — Ettore Sottsass, bold geometry, clashing colors used with purpose. The question was how to translate an adult design movement into children's wear without making it feel like a costume.
Design Development
I developed custom print layouts using geometric shapes and a saturated color palette, then tested pattern combinations to find the balance between visual energy and wearability.
Construction
Each dress features color-blocked panels with mix-and-match geometric prints. Construction focused on durability and easy care — machine-washable fabrics, reinforced seams, comfortable stretch.
The Result
A three-piece collection that proves children's wear can be design-forward without sacrificing function.
